Cannot email your photos? Check the count, file size and format
Distinguish per-file limits from total message limits, choose compatible formats and check detail before sending photos.
Check both the per-file limit and the total message limit
A failed attachment is not always a format problem. Check the instructions from your email provider and the recipient: does the limit apply to each file or the complete message? Use the limits shown by the service rather than assuming one universal number.
Five 700KB photos total about 3.5MB before email packaging. Each photo may fit while the complete message does not. Email encoding can add overhead, so leave some room below the stated limit.
Choose a format the recipient can open
If JPEG is required, convert HEIC, PNG or WebP to JPEG. If your source is already JPEG, Pichn can keep JPEG while recompressing or resizing it. PNG and WebP input still require a different output format. Converting a photograph to PNG does not necessarily make it smaller.
Use a preset as a starting point, not a guarantee
Open the page for your source format and choose the email option under Quick presets. Check the actual output format and size limit. Adjust the limit to match the destination; the preset is not a promise of acceptance by an email provider.
For a general view, resizing may be sufficient. For documents, preserve readable text. Convert one photo first, open the saved result and inspect faces or small letters before processing the rest.
Choose a sharing method that works for the recipient
ZIP is a way to save several images together, not extra image compression. A recipient using a phone may find a few individual attachments easier to handle. For many photos, agree on a suitable sharing method rather than repeatedly retrying an oversized email.
Check before sending
Confirm the format, the total attachment size and that the saved images open. Attach only what is needed and keep the originals. Review names, addresses and document numbers that the recipient does not need.
Pichn instructions describe the current implementation. Follow the destination’s requirements for uploading or publishing images.
Completely free, up to 20 photos. Keep your originals and check the saved results.
