Before converting 20 photos: avoid interruptions and lost downloads
Understand sequential processing, the 100MB result limit and shared crop settings before a batch conversion.
Twenty files is a selection limit, not a performance guarantee
Pichn accepts up to 20 photos per batch and processes them one at a time, rather than decoding all 20 simultaneously. One large image can still use substantial memory. Try 1–3 photos first on older phones or with high-resolution images. Split more than 20 files across batches.
Group photos that can share the same settings
Output format, size limit and other settings apply to the batch. Crops also use shared relative settings, so different compositions are easier to check separately. Group photos by purpose if they need different output formats.
The 100MB limit covers retained results only
Processing stops before the total retained output exceeds 100MB. This is not a cap on all device memory usage. Decoding originals, previews and ZIP creation need extra memory. A batch can stop before 20 files; save the completed results and process the rest separately.
Save before choosing another batch
Selecting new photos clears the previous results. Reloading also clears them. Save the outputs and check that they open on the device before continuing. Clear photos & results releases the page-held data; it does not delete files already downloaded.
Distinguish conversion failure from a missed size target
Failed images are excluded from the ZIP. Images that converted but did not meet the size limit can still be saved individually and included in the ZIP with a warning. A successful ZIP does not prove that every file meets the target. Check the result list and saved file count.
Pichn instructions describe the current implementation. Follow the destination’s requirements for uploading or publishing images.
