Before sharing photos: check personal details and keep the originals
Review visible information, metadata and recipients. Browser-local conversion does not make the destination safe.
Inspect information visible in the photo
Review names, addresses and numbers on documents, and also mail in the background, computer screens, badges and reflections. A smaller image may still contain readable information when enlarged. Consider retaking the photo rather than sending unnecessary details.
Understand what cropping can and cannot remove
Cropping can remove unwanted material at the edges, but not information overlapping a subject you need to retain. Pichn does not offer blur, redaction or automatic anonymization. Use an appropriate editor if needed and open the final saved file to check it.
Do not treat format conversion as complete anonymization
A file may contain camera details or location information. Pichn redraws converted images, but ordinary conversion is not proof that every format-specific metadata field is gone. The dedicated EXIF tool can inspect supported GPS and shooting fields in JPEG, PNG and WebP and create a cleaned copy. A missing GPS result does not certify complete anonymity.
Local processing and recipient handling are separate
Pichn converts selected photos in your browser without uploading them to its server. If you then send the result by email or to another service, that recipient or provider receives it. Check the destination and audience rather than assuming that local conversion also makes sharing safe.
Do not attach private originals to a support request
Device name, browser and the error message often help diagnose a problem without a photo. You do not need to email a private original to [email protected]. If an example is necessary, use a different image without sensitive information. Review stored originals and copies already shared as appropriate.
Pichn instructions describe the current implementation. Follow the destination’s requirements for uploading or publishing images.
Completely free, up to 20 photos. Keep your originals and check the saved results.
